Between panoramas and adventure on the crests of the Orobie

The second stage of the Presolana Trekking connects Bossico to the Magnolini Refuge, crossing an area characterized by woods, pastures and panoramic stretches. The route initially follows a constant climb on CAI path 554A, alternating stretches in the woods with open spaces with views of Lake Iseo.

After passing an initial part immersed in a beech forest, you gradually reach the ridge of Monte Colombina, a panoramic point with a view of the peaks of the Bergamo Orobie. The climb is constant but without particular technical difficulties.

From the ridge you continue along a ridge with a moderate slope, crossing areas of alpine vegetation and rocky areas. The presence of rhododendrons and rock outcrops signals the approach to the arrival altitude.

The Magnolini Refuge, located at 1,613 meters, offers the possibility of refreshments and overnight stay. In good visibility conditions, it is possible to observe wide views of the surrounding valleys. The stage ends in a medium mountain context, representing a transition point towards increasingly higher environments.

The route: what to expect

Departure from Bossico

The walk begins among cobbled streets and breathtaking views of Lake Iseo. A village suspended between heaven and earth, the perfect starting point for a day of trekking.

Climb towards Monte Colombina

A path immersed in beech and fir woods, with spectacular views of Valle Camonica and Sebino.

Panoramic ridge

An aerial walk along the crests of Monte Alto and Monte Pora, with open views of the Orobie and Presolana.

Arrival at Rifugio Magnolini

A welcoming stop at 1,613 m, surrounded by alpine pastures and endless views.
